For use in radial and bias ply tires
Designed for chemical and heat vulcanization
Patch portion has gray vulcanizing gum with blue poly backing
Stem portion is dip coated with premium vulcanizing gum
No special insert tools required. Use carbide cutter to prepare injury channel. Install from the inside, pull through, and cut off wire. It's that easy!

i did get a few boxes where the metal wire was loose and would pull out before the patch "seated" (get it as far as you can, then just grab and rubber and pull)..... another box didnt have the blue "cover" cut, so you had to pick at it with your finger nails or a knife.
so thats the reason for the 4 stars.... quality control can be a bit lacking.

but the patches could all be used (even if it took an extra 5 mins for a 15 min repair lol)
never had one fail as long as it was done right.
idk, they just work.

and if your tire shop isnt filling the hole in the tire.... find another place.
with every state using road salt these days, the salt can get into the hole, into the steel chords/belt, and cause "rust jacking".
the rust expands the metal, and separates the plys.
at first you notice a "bump" at low speeds.... maybe a slight vibration at high speeds.
shortly after that... KA-BOOM!

thats why these combi patches are REQUIRED in some states.

and please, for the love of all that is holy.... dont "plug" your tires.
like, its fine to limp home or to a shop..... but ASAP, have them rip out the plug and put one of these in.
SO!!! much safer.

you cant inspect the inside of the tire... which ya need to do especially if the tire went REALLY flat.
the side wall can rub on itself (even if you have low, but enough air, hitting bumps can make it touch)
we call this "run flat" at work... and you will find ground up / powdered rubber from the sidewall inside the tire..... and the sidewall body chords exposed.
thats how buldges form.... the inner liner gets ground away.

a tubeless tire is just a "tube type" tire with the tube "glued" to the inside.
its only that first layer of special rubber that actually holds in the air.
